I've been thinking about my seeming problem with dialogue. My Advanced Writing Workshop professor pointed out that when my characters speak, they sometimes sound stilted and overwritten. I had trouble figuring that out until he provided some advice and examples, which made editing the last two of my three short stories easier. He reassured that it doesn't have to be perfect but maybe I'll keep an eye on it in my regular stories from now on. I guess it comes out because I write two lines every five minutes and sometimes one has to overwrite in order to accomplish that.

May comes in a few minutes, so this is cutting it close. See you next time.
