Loss and Lingering Sickness
Feb. 28th, 2023 12:54 pmMy cough is still lingering. There are days where it’s barely present but it’s there. I do wonder if I took the medicine to deal with the chronic cough too early after all. My dad also got a cold earlier in the month and mentioned he had a cough that lingered, so I don’t know if it’s my cough-related asthma doing its thing or the latest cold going around. I am sniffling again. I have an appointment with my lung doctor tomorrow, which was the earliest appointment I could get for him. Hopefully, he’ll be able to come up with a method to get rid of this cough for good and before I get my Invisi-line the week after.
( Cut for mild talk about recent deaths in my life )
I’m watching another anime, Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai. I’m enjoying it so far and Dai’s a sweet kid. I’ll probably be watching 2 to 4 episodes per week, on weekday mornings which I now designate to watch anime that are a more standalone and don’t’ change their cast every year like Digimon, Sentai, or Rider. I know it was written by the same writer as Digimon Xros Wars and Kamen Rider W, my faves but I’m braced for some iffy female character writing and shonen fanservice shenanigans. I hear that is toned down due to the channel this adaptation was broadcast but I still saw a bit of fanservice humor in the first 7 episodes. I know this is related to the Dragon Quest video games but I think knowledge about that isn’t needed and I’m able to understand details through in-show explanations and context. I read a lot of spoilers but look forward to seeing how the story and characters play out in action.
That’s all for now. I got out an hour ago shoveling snow off the driveway with Dad (with a mask on to protect me from the cold of course). At least something appropriately winter happened. I’m glad the snowfall didn’t cancel my lung doctor appointment. Until March’s end, see you!
