I’ve finally posted another We Will Hold On Forever chapter. It’s been four months since my last chapter posts and hopefully after I moved back to writing 2 hours a day, you all won’t have to wait as long for the next chapters but no promises. I’m also rereading previous chapters to remind myself of what came before but how much that is contributing remains to be seen. I’m also doing rewrite notes for the second draft of a original story, which is a change for me – I almost never had to do rewrite notes for the whole story before. That would take longer but I guess it’ll be good to have a macro view of the story so as to change it for the better. Still sticking to my sleep schedule. There were some near slip ups but knowing there’s an alarm to help me get up has kept me consistent. What also helps is that it’s getting colder and that means I can wear more layers. I’m weird that way in that I sort of prefer the cold. I once heard the joke that goes something like “with cold, you can always put on more layers but when it gets too hot, crawling out of your skin is rude.” (I can’t remember who made the joke, whether it was online or in-person. If anyone knows, feel free to tell me). Sometimes I feel tired when I get up but as the day goes on, that mostly slips away. If and when I get sick, this will be all upended but I hope I can get back on that schedule when I get better. A consistent sleep schedule leaves more time in the day.
I saw Black Panther Wakanda Forever after Thanksgiving, as that’s when time opened up for me to go and I wanted to wait out the crowds. Still, the showing I went to had a decent number of viewers. I enjoyed the film. It was a good sendoff to Chadwick Bosemon and working around his character’s absence while also continuing the story. The conflict between Wakanda and Namor’s country of Talokan was well-done, as was how it was resolved. While I wish T’Challa’s story would have been able to continue in some other way, I like what was here and the characters that took the spotlight and worked through T’Challa’s death. There’s the caveat that the two British actors of the cast had said or shared some yikes and bigoted things (Though cast and crew claim reports of Shuri’s actress’ anti-vax behavior on set are Inaccurate), a singer for the film collaborated on a project with an abuser, and I’m unsure of the accuracy and treatment of the Mayan aspects of Talokan. With that in mind, I do recommend the film to those interested.
That’s all for now. Still job searching but not in a hurry, wanting to find something just right for me. Already eying the Christmas presents I want to get. Until year’s end, see you!
