Three more weeks and yet another semester at my university shall come to an end. After some communication confusion, I was able to get the information needed to finish my essay for the documentary for my religion class. It required reading far enough into a book to get the themes that were applicable to the documentary project and essay and that was a bit of a challenge. I’m used to reading one page every four or five minutes, not two. Fortunately, it worked out. We did the filming and now the next step would be to edit it altogether and provide a narrative. That results of that would be interesting. I hope I contributed enough to the project but whatever the case, it would be one more thing I would be done with. Then one of the main worries would be the test, which the professor got into specifics about this today. Fortunately, studying might not be as hard as I thought it would be.

For my Shakespeare class, I finished the first draft of the final essay. It wouldn’t be due for around three weeks but I decided to start it this Thanksgiving break anyway since I believe I have all the materials I need. My professor for that class consented to looking over the first rough draft which I emailed to him today. I kind of doubt I would be able to just submit it now with minor edits. Still, to have plenty of time to have it examined and then rewrite it instead of waiting until the last minute is appealing. That way, I could put some more concentration on studying for the religion class. I’ve also been reading a scene me and two others were supposed to memorize and act out in class. I believe I did okay. I can’t recall memorizing any material for activities beside tests, so I kind of stumbled even though I only had two speaking lines. I at least contributed with coming up with an additional reason why we selected that short passage of that Shakespeare play, which my group mates were appreciative of.

In other news, the first Digimon Adventure Tri movie came out. Good news, it’s on crunchyroll. Bad news, the site’s opening each of the four parts to the public at least once a week. So three more weeks, and all the parts would be out. I could just watch it one part per week but I want to do it all in one go. I kind of skimmed the four parts on another website and have been encouraged by how faithful and descent I heard it was. I’ve been reading lots of meta from two Digimon bloggers recently and it was fascinating, particularly about certain brief scenes that have many fans a-buzzing. I look forward to where the plotline of this movie series goes. I don’t know if this would inspire fanfic around this era in Adventure but who knows. The movie was mostly the setup.

I watched the Peanuts Movie last Tuesday. I wasn’t particularly attached to the Peanuts specials and its characters, mostly decided to check it out because it was animated and got good reception. It was pretty good and apparently faithful to Schulz’s original vision. There was one thing in the movie that apparently some fans had issue with but I didn’t, especially due to the conventions of the Peanuts. It was enjoyable time and my Peanuts loving mentor who accompanies me to the movies enjoyed it a lot.

The next movie I’ll see will be The Good Dinosaur. I’m aware the grade it’s getting from critics overall is in the C+ range, not up to Pixar’s usual high grade, but I’m weak for dinosaurs and certain storylines about bonds, especially between a human and nonhuman. I’ll see how I take to the film this Tuesday.

Today I’ll be going to the clinic again. Due to school schedules, it’ll end up being a long drive. Two Mondays back, my mother mistook the date and drove me there only to have to go to another clinic. I was having a persistent cough from weather induced asthma and the medicines Mom suggest I take did diddly-squat. Fortunately, the other clinic recommended two medicines I’m taking once when I get up and once before I go to sleep. They seem to be working so far lately, as I don’t seem to be coughing so fiercely. Then again, I’ve been indoors most of the time and the weather might be in my favor. So this appointment Monday is for my usual checkup. I already had my shots when I went shopping with Mom several weeks back, so I don’t expect too much excitement there aside from updating whether I proceed on my usual rounds of medicines or if there might be any changeup.

The greater challenge would be keeping up with my usual routine while on the road. Reading and watching stuff in a moving vehicle can lead to some faint nausea if I’m not too careful and trying to be careful would result in a slower pace. Not helped that one news site I frequent seemed to add more. I kind of wonder if I might be able to get this routine under control and catch up from being nearly a month behind on the news. Maybe things would change when I stop liveblogging except for certain monster movies. That had been the thing that had been eating up most of my time. I’m eight episodes from the end of Suite Precure and shall begin Smile. I want to stop there since that was producer Atsutoshi Umezawa’s final Pretty Cure series before handing it off to another producer. I’ll still watch from DokiDoki on but won’t do liveblogging. I might watch more Ultraman after that, since a lot of subbed material came out since I last watched those shows.

Still, with the news readings, maybe one day I might have to be more selective of what articles I read like I am now with certain MSNBC show clips or outright stop reading from some websites altogether. I often hear about the more common news in one form or another in other places and I don’t need to hear about everything ever. The problem would be weaning myself to a new routine. Oh well, that’s in the future.

Hopefully after the semester ends, I could try to catch up so I’m more three weeks behind instead of four. The problem would be the much shorter break time between semesters, as I would be transferring while classes were going on. Depending on the class workload, that might or mightn’t be manageable. I do like knowing ahead of time of what my news reading load would be and I could plan accordingly. Optimistically, I would be just a week behind, with enough distance to know what news stories are going to get ad nauseum coverage that I could skip yet not so far behind that I feel like I’m just reading old news. I would like to have more room to read fanfic and other materials, which had dropped off the radar since that time was mostly swallowed by school readings and studying. That might happen again the next semester. So after I finish liveblogging Smile, I might see if more time would open up and allow me to read more for pleasure than to study and be informed.

That’s all for now. My fanfic situation is at it’s usual pace, with the latest draft of my Gamera fic looking to be near completion. The first draft of the final chapter of Past Wild Endurance might be several pages near the end. I’m several pages near the end of the second draft of that story’s first chapter as well. I’m on the second draft of my plot for Past Kingly Endurance, shortening the arcs into three rather than four chapters. Other than that, everything’s on track. When I next post, it would be the end of 2015 and I would have probably also seen Star Wars the Force Awakens, which I might mention. Maybe the next year would actually look up in terms of managing my free times. Until then, see you!
