Marching onward...

Near the end of the month and the end of a few patterns that have held for a long while.
For one, I will be finished with my liveblogs at the end of this week. It has been a wild ride that has gotten wilder and eaten up a lot more time out of my day. Finishing will mean more time freed up to pursue other interests. The same could be said for a weekend news show I watched, whose cancellation was most unfortunate and dickish. But watching each episode takes four hours, and if I watch two in one day, that I can mean I stay up more than I should. With that time opened up, I can catch up on two or so podcasts I follow that have grown quite a biacklog. For both instances, at the very least, I could plot to go to bed at a more descent time and not have a sleep schedule as much out of whack.
In university news, I’ve chosen my last classes. One was senior seminor, where you have to write something really long but my advisor, who would be teaching it, brought up the option that I could write a story with my creative writing concentration, though there would need to be an essay-like introduction. If I was going to write a Godzilla-inspired monster story, I the introduction would go over the history of Godzilla and similar such films. I’ll be looking forward to that. The other class was Playwriting, since I want to continue my story-making streak in some way. Exploring that format will be interesting, with not being much of a play person myself. We’ll see how that goes.
For classes I’m currently taking, my Critical Theory and Practice class has fallen quite behind. We were supposed to finish completing reading the theory, do two tests, and two practice essays before Spring Break but class cancelations from snow and other things along with committing more attention to some material means we will only finish that goal in the next week or so. The second test will come next Monday, so I’ve been writing down the definitions of the chapters terms we covered. We only need to cover only sections of two more chapters and I’ll have completed the notes for the test. Then the class is supposed to lead the conversation in the last few weeks and the usual final essay. That shall be a trip.
For Script Writing, the professor decided we should concentrate wholly on just writing one script. That isn’t too much of a loss, since I didn’t have much ideas for scripts for the next round. I finished a sort of first draft for my first script, but the maximum is twenty pages and I’m three pages in. There’s probably other stuff I might need to work on. I tried to trim down the length but I couldn’t find anything to take out, so my professor’s advice would hopefully be useful. Pacing for me might be an issue, sine I’m the type to go slower, since I’m not sure if I’m rushing or not. Maybe that can be helped too.
I’ve been sick for the last couple of weeks. A persistent cough whose origins I’m ignorant but I suspect it was one time I forgot to take a regular chewable that generally prevents me from getting sick. I can get through the day just fine and I have medicine that can help me sleep through the night, it’s just the coughing can get quite intense through certain times of the day. Hopefully there’s a way to finally kick this sickness to the curb eventually if it lingers past its sell-by date.
On the fanfiction front, things have been a bit delayed with script writing but I’ve made progress in rewriting Past Wild Endurance, began writing the replotted Godzilla-and-Anguirus friendship story, plotting another Godzilla story, and have begun rewriting Together in Death. I finished another rewrite of Babysitter for A Day, and hopefully I’ll find time to look it over to see if it’ll be fit for posting. Speaking of fit for posting, I’ll finally start posting Trinity of Loss on Sunday. I’ve looked it over and feel like I could post it but I’m a bit nervous, since it feels like it’s my first handle on certain characters. But I’ll see what the reaction shall be if I get any reviews. Still haven’t got any yet, but again, hoping to build enough work that others would look at my other fics and review them.
I saw Zootopia and it was great. Judy and Nick the lead characters do come to work well together and I’m glad it seems their relationship has stayed in the platonic realm. Judy could give as good as Nick gave in wit and smarts, if not more so, and it was fun seeing the point where they really began to click. The other characters were no slouches either and the themes of prejudice were timely. I might have said this before but it’s interesting how the modern internet reacts to these Disney films, digging into the characters and sometimes bringing out into the open what was only alluded to. This is usually seen in fanfic, rp, or occasionally meta I come across. I look forward to how this comes through with films like Finding Dory, Moana, and beyond.
I’m in the last third of watching Power Rangers Jungle Fury. After that is RPM and then I’ll be done with Power Rangers boxsets. I decided I’ll occupy that timeslot with Ultra series shows. Crunchyroll seems to be adding on Ultras every several months, so I better get started. I became fond of that franchise since I first came across Ultraman, since it was like monster action ala Godzilla but as a TV show. Granted, it doesn’t give me the drive to write fanfic but I would like to watch some interesting monster action and sci fi actions as well as some good storytelling from a show that’s apparently the equivalent of Star Trek and Superman and apparently as well regarded (At least in terms of talking about Star Trek).
Anyway, that’s all that I can think to babble about for now. It’s Tuesday morning and I have been up since yesterday morning. Within several hours, I hope to go to sleep and have a nice long rest. Hopefully Tuesdays could be my “rest” days until I could start getting my sleep schedule on track and catch up on my watch schedule. So I’ll see what awaits me in April. Until the end of that month, see you!
