7/31: Still on chapter 22 of Past Wild Endurance. It might turn out to be my longest chapter yet. The flashbacks to a certain villain's backstory is eating up most of my typing time. I want this to be quicker but I don't want to have the descent to villainy happen too quickly. It could be nearly thirty pages since I last left the Hunters. I'm getting near the end but I have the sense it would take several more pages to wrap things up. Hopefully the Hunters party would be little more than ten pages thereafter. Hmm, I'm thinking of maybe breaking up the flashbacks in between the fight scenes. The trouble is, how to place them. I framed them in such a way that the beginnings at least would have little relevance to the beginnings of the Hunter scenes. I might be able to tweak that but I don't know...the flashbacks would probably still overwhelm the present scenes. Oh well, I could fix that later.
I've managed to plot the last two chapters of my Heroes Cross story in a more detailed manner. The cast is so bloated that I was very brief in the initial summaries which turns out to be my downfall. I compensated the last two weeks but doing a nine-line summary for every group's development. After I resumed writing, there was still some struggling but it became so much easier now I know where I'm going. The 6th chapter would still be unbearably long but I could fix that on editing.
Those are the 2 major fanfic projects I'm working on. With my other writing interests, I barely have time to touch my other fanfic ideas other than thinking about them. I'm not sure if that could change in the future without giving up one or the other.
